7 Month Old Cheater

My sweet baby Davis is 7 months old!! Eating aside, he really is a GOOD baby now! Hallelujah! Eating still STINKS! He does great with the baby food, finger foods, etc. But, WILL.NOT.DRINK. (I should add that doctors, therapists, and myself all know that it's COMPLETELY behavioral. He has no structural or function problems, no pain, and no aversions of any kind. Just plain doesn't want to do it. Ugh.) He takes a couple of sips/swallows, then he's done. SO.FRUSTRATING. I "do" therapy all day. I come home, and "do" therapy with my own. It's exhausting. We do feeding therapy, speech therapy(ish), and physical therapy all day, every day. About a month ago, we started physical therapy through Cook's. It is absolutely proof that you should NEVER, EVER let ECI be your child's only therapy. Davis is considered to be "normally developing." Meaning, he has hit all of his physical/motor milestones on time, or early. However, he cheats! The ECI therapists don't care, or even notice it. He sits, rolls, tries to crawl, etc, but not correctly. The new physical therapist noticed that, just like with his eating, he finds the lazy way to do everything. Ha. He "gets it done" using a little muscle/effort as possible. So, we're now working on stimulating the other muscles to help him down the road. He does not like it. He just wants to be left alone to play, not rocked, positioned, or "messed with." Oh well. Sorry buddy...it's for your own good. :)

I mentioned before that he rolls, sits, and tries to crawl. He is SO.CLOSE to crawling! He "scoots," but typically goes backwards...makes him so mad! :) He gets up on hands/knees and rocks, then lunges forward. He can go about 4 feet, then just gets mad that he still can't reach his toys.

Separation anxiety has definitely begun. He gets upset when we leave, and couldn't be more excited when we get back. He still doesn't have any teeth. He puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. He loves any toy that makes noise, and loves it even more if he can get it in his mouth. He loves his exersaucer, jumper, and stroller. He also loves riding in the car. He has started "talking" and uses lots of sounds. Makes this speech therapist-mommy very proud!

Since I'm so behind, here's another "picture hodge-podge." :) As always, the captions are under the pictures they apply to.

One of the pictures from his "Professional 6 Month Photo Shoot." LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! He is STANDING!!

Likely his favorite toy right now.

He has to be holding something to go to sleep. It doesn't matter what. This day? A sock and teething ring. :)

He likes to get comfy in the stroller. He almost always rides with one or both feet up on the tray.

B and I went to the only World Series game the Rangers won!

Never seen the place so packed! They set a new attendance record: 52,419.

Our little "Cecil the Turtle" on his first Halloween. How cute is he?!

I think he liked it!

We had to start baby-proofing a few weeks ago. This mirror has always just been propped against that wall so I can sit there in the mornings and get ready and watch the news at the same time. For several months now, Davis has been sitting in front of me playing with toys, digging in my make-up bag, and playing with the mirror. Then one day, he decided that he would try to put the mirror in his mouth. Ha. Imagine how that worked. :)

He loves the puffs and biter biscuits. The yogurt melt things are not his favorite, though in the last few days he's decided that they are ok after all.

This is one of those taggie blanket things. It has "tags" all the way around it. His favorite? The actual tag with the wash instructions. Silly boy.

He's a toy/paci hoarder. If he can reach it, it must be in his lap, or right.next.to.him. He may not ever actually play with it, but he likes to have options.

Davis and I were Christmas shopping last week (I'm almost done! Thankyouverymuch.) and found this at Macy's. We found this WRONG on several levels! Ugh. Davis will NOT be wearing this...EVER.

Mom's are so smart. What better way to thaw frozen breastmilk at the mall! Ha. I'm a genius.

Our neighbor is as nutty as I am when it comes to Christmas decorating. Tree went up last week. Their oldest daughter (whom Davis LOVES!) let him sit and play with the tree. When he won't leave ours alone, he's all your Brittney!

My big 7 month old, who FINALLY broke the 16 pound mark! Though, not because he's eating it by mouth.

You take the paci? I'll eat the foot.

Mama has perfected the art of "funny sounds."

Heehee. LOVE it!

If you made it this far, you deserve a medal!! As you can see, things are good! Please continue to pray for our boy...Pray that the fluid in his brain remains normal (so far, so good. Next MRI is December 8th), pray that his physical development stays on track and that he'll stop cheating and use ALL of the appropriate muscles, and PRAY FOR HIS EATING!!! Thank you all for the continued prayers!
