Mama's Day

I had a wonderful mother's day. I spent the day with my "people," and wouldn't have had it any other way! After church they took me to lunch, and Brandon did all the "work" all day, so all I had to do was love on my sweet babies. (Thanks for my special day, Babe!) Davis was so excited all day. He told everyone that it was "Mama's day," and since there is no song for mother's day, he sang happy birthday to me several times. :)

This sweet miracle made me a Mommy, and what an initiation it was! He taught me more in his first 24 hours of life than anything ever had before. They took him out of me, and from me, and 24 hours later a neurosurgeon was cutting on him.

And this precious little girl completed me!

I am one BLESSED Mama! It is certainly true that our God is able to do immeasurably more, than ANYTHING we could ever imagine. (Eph 3:20) Our children are not OURS. They are HIS and I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I am in awe of these tiny people...and humbled that He chose me to be their Mommy. Thank you, Lord, for my precious miracles!

Swimpoop

Davis-ism: swimsuit = "swimpoop." (And, so I don't ever forget, doorknob = "doorknock.") This past weekend, we had our first "swimpoop" day of the season. My babies were SO excited! And, get ready folks, because there isn't anything much cuter than a toddler in a bikini...

SEE?! Oh.My!!

This little guy happens to be darn cute too!

Not too sure of that Ninja Turtle sprinkler...at first.

Wednesday

Yesterday I had an unexpected day off. And I loved it! Yes, Davis had doctor appointments; and yes, Anna happens to have a mild case of hand-foot-and-mouth disease (Ugh! Davis had it when he was about her age too.), but it was a good day! I wish I could spend more time with them every week.

This sweet boy kept saying "I'm so excited!" about having a bonus "Mommy day" this week. But he clearly stated that he was "NOT excited to go to the doctor." Sorry baby...I don't like it either. We saw his GI doctor for a regular check-up, and it was a good appointment. We talked about the past, and started putting together plans for the next 6-12 months. Something only other spina bifida parents would consider a "good" appointment. ;)

This little mess was just happy...when things were going her way.

She wanted his sticker, but he kept telling her no...

...so she asked me to get it. She said "mine? have pease?" (This speech therapist is SOOO very proud of a 16 month old starting to use 2-word phrases!)

And she was UNhappy when Mama also said no. Sorry sister; he earned that one with Dr. Cantu.

They were playing with bugs. Nice.

It may not look like it, but he was FLYING down that hill. Take THAT spina bifida!

This one is blurry, but too sweet not to include. Look at D's hands!

Such a good day! I am one blessed Mama!

The Last Week

The BEST part of coming home!

We ditched the high chair last week, and we're all loving it! Davis loves having Anna at the table with us, and I'm glad to have that chair out of my kitchen!

Lunch date after PT and OT last Friday.

And, WHEN did she get this big?! That's the first time she got a drink in an "outside cup." It was her idea..."mine, pease?!" Water; the cup may have changed, but the liquid didn't...sorry sister.

(never mind the food in his mouth.)

Sometimes when we skype with Aunt Vasha, we put the computer where he is sitting so she can see them playing in the play "area." I told him I was getting the computer ready, and Brandon found this. He was READY to talk to HIS Aunt Vasha.
