Davis is the best big brother; though he may very well love her to death...literally. I kid...sort-of. :) He has taken all the changes in his little world like a champ. He doesn't understand why he can't poke her eyes out, and why Mommy can't pick him up, but he's getting there. He shushes her when she cries, and yells "oh no!" when she spits up. Before her tongue was clipped, I had to pump and give her bottles and he gave her one. He's helped change a diaper, and is excellent at helping her burp (after which he always tells her "good job"). He has to be touching her if she's in his vicinity, and kisses her more times than we can count. This morning he walked up to her and randomly said "I yuv vu baby!" He's turned into a monkey and there is nothing he cannot climb. Ugh. He's talking in 3-4 word sentences most of the time, and continues to learn new things every day. Last week was rough for D. He had bronchitis, an ear infection, an TWO DIFFERENT STRAINS OF THE FLU! (Yes, he had the shot! And, No, so far, he has not shared it with Anna.)
Anna is a good baby. She was tongue-tied at birth, and we had that clipped. She eats well (Praise the Lord!), and sleeps well. She also has reflux, but we're already on top of that. She had her one month check-up yesterday. She is already up to 8 lbs 4 oz, and is 21 in long. She's growing fast! She holds her head up for long stretches of time, and has rolled over twice (both by accident I'm sure). She smiles a lot in her sleep and smiled when awake once. She takes all of Davis' "love" in stride and we're all in love with her.
Enjoy all 71 of the following pictures! :)
This was MY nurse when Davis was born. She is the best! She took such good care of both of us while our sweet boy was down in the NICU. It was good to see her again!
(She was keeping D from falling off.)
There's a fence around that swing now...for her protection (and his).
He looked like this for a couple of days! So sad! Children who have breastfed newborn siblings should be exempt from all illnesses...especially the flu!
I was in the kitchen and heard, "mama, help pease...stuck!"
He wanted her to have a snack with him. This was our compromise.
Daddy was sweeping the floor, Mommy was tending to sister, D was taking advantage of the entire situation.
Yeah. This was this morning. He was quiet getting up there, then I heard him say "Dadis, no no no. Det down." (But, no, he didn't follow his own discipline.)
