The physical and occupational therapists still say he doesn't need therapy. Yay! He does, however need speech therapy. Go figure...driving me nuts! His feeding is HORRIBLE! He cannot suck. We've been working on it since we came home from the hospital. We now have a dietician we see monthly. The reflux is mostly to blame. When he came home from the hospital, he was eating 3-4 ounces every 3 hours. That was fantastic. However, he still only eats 3-4 ounces every 3 hours. He's much more active, and is now loosing weight. The actual number hasn't gone down, but it hasn't gone up in almost a month either. Doctors say that if the number for a baby doesn't go up, they are losing weight. We have an appointment with a pediatric GI specialist this coming Thursday (22nd). Then we will have a plan...a better plan. He already takes Prevacid and Zantac, both twice a day. Poor baby. All the things we worried about the last 4 months of pregnancy have been non-issues. It's the other stuff...
Many of you still frequently ask how you can continue to pray for us. (Thank you!!) Specific prayer requests:
- His head. So far, still no need for a shunt, but always a possibility.
- His bowel and bladder function...normal right now, but can change at any time as he grows.
- His feeding.
- His parents with regards to his feeding. *sigh*
- Reflux
- His sleeping (or lack-of) - and his mama's sanity!
And now...the only reason any of you check this thing! 26 pictures!! That should satisfy grandparents and Aunt Sha for a day or two at least! :)
Father's Day!
You probably can't really tell because of the watermark, but I love the way he's looking at his daddy here.
Clearly he was through with my photoshoot. :)
Watching baseball. The sock hands...sometimes he tries to suck his thumbs (really, just wants to suck something, and the thumbs are the easiest). When he's persistent, we put the socks on his hands and a paci in his mouth, and he's a happy camper. He doesn't need the socks anymore...thank goodness.
Always happy when he thinks he's going to get in the car.
I got out of the shower one morning and found them both asleep in the floor and D was holding B's pinky finger. He moved about the time I took the picture. So sweet.
Brandon made this onsie. If you can't read it, it says: "Davis Brown's Organic Fertilizer." He's so funny. Given the amount of poo he produces, this is perfect.
Something was clearly, too funny.
Remember this onsie? B made it too.
"Did you see that call daddy? Unbelievable." (They really were watching baseball!)
His first 4th of July. We didn't go see a big firework show this year, but the neighbors behind our house had a pretty darn good one. He watched...briefly.
FINALLY getting to meet Uncle Matt!!
And, clearly he was very comfortable. He loved Matt. :) Good thing. Yes, he's holding the top of Matt's shirt. He does that. He has to have something to hold. And, look at that sweet little foot!
Two sweet boys! I love these 2 boys more than anything! Look at sweet Cannon. He really does love baby "Da-Da" (pronounced like Da, as in DAvis).
While Matt and Vasha were here, she took the night shift! When he woke up, she fed him and held him upright (reflux) for 30 mins, I pumped. It was a great system! I decided I need a night nurse. Having her to do that cut my "middle of the night awake time" down from 2 hours, to just an hour...ish...each time.
Sweet, sleeping baby!
Meeting Uncle Jerry
He's a tough nut to crack when he's tired...but we got a smile!
I love that he thinks I'm so funny! It will change soon enough, I know.
Still thinking mama's hilarious!
He's growing into his Ranger's hats!
First time to go to Daddy's golf course! It was outside, so he loved it!
But, more than anything, he loved the ride in the cart! Trust me...he really did love it.
