Today

All but this one are from today. Friday night we let Davis stay up a little later. I found this when I got out of the shower. :)

2 out of 3 ready for church this morning...in time for a picture. Score!

On Sunday nights, we have a picnic in the living room and watch America's Funniest Videos. Davis LOVES it. Tonight while I was getting dinner ready, Anna was standing at my feet yelling "EAT!" After about 10 minutes, she took her chair into the living room, and sat in it, still yelling "EAT!" Poor baby. Someone should really tell her parents dinner is at 6pm sharp...never 6:15!

She was sitting in that "hole" reading a book when I left to grab the camera.

I have no idea.

More Birthdays

Aunt Vasha and Trey both turned 30 in the last month. As soon as Aunt Vasha could get back to Texas we had a little party. My babies LOVED getting to play with her so much in the last few weeks and were sad that she had to go back home.

At the party...
I had to include this one. My big girl now says "cheese!" when we ask her too. I sure love that scrunched up nose!

That's better!

Not sure what they were talking about, but they were certainly having fun.

When I told him we were leaving to go to Nana and Grandpa's for Aunt Vasha's party he jumped up and down and said "Yay! I'm so excited!"

(He looks much too big here. I don't care for it!)

And, Trey and his babies.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Vasha! Happy Birthday, Trey!!

Popper

My Popper (my dad's dad) would have turned 88 today. He passed away two weeks ago. *sigh* My Popper was so many things. More than anything, he loved the Lord and his family, and made certain everyone knew it. You never had to wonder what he thought because he was quick to tell you...whether you wanted to know or not. From a very early age, he told us all that we should always do what we know to be right. There will always be some who don't like it, but it doesn't matter. Do what is right, the rest will follow. It isn't always easy, but he was right!

My sweet little Davis Brown, name after his Popper...Doyle Brown. Popper was TERRIBLE when it came to using the phone. When we found out Davis had spina bifida, he called me the very next day. He wanted me to know how proud he was of me, and Brandon. He wanted us to know how much he loved us, and how much he loved our yet-to-be-born baby. He wanted us to know that he would be there when he was born. He wanted us to know that he was praying with us for a miracle, and reminded us that miracles always look different. And, he wanted us to know that he KNEW what great things our God was going to do through my baby. Again, he was right!

Davis was such a "cranky" baby. I watched my Popper sit and sing to my sweet boy for almost an hour that day. And, I watched my baby stare at him while perfectly content. Oh how I wish I had a video to go with this picture. I can still hear him singing his made-up lullabies.

Three of my favorite's. I wonder what they were looking at. :)

Anna's birthday.

Oh how he loved my babies! The small one...

...and the big one! And they loved him!

My Popper was tired. He was sick. And he was ready to go HOME. Our Lord was gracious, and he didn't suffer long. He passed away two weeks ago, and I'm still not ready. We all miss him. We planned to get together for his birthday. All he wanted was for his scattered family to attend church with him. We all attended two weeks ago, and some of us were there again today. As much as he loved us, we loved him. We LOVE him. And even though I'm still not ready for him to go, he was, and God was, and today, he celebrated his first birthday at the feet of Jesus. And that? We celebrate! Happy Birthday, Popper! We love you!

Fish

Davis got a fishing pole and tackle box for his birthday. He was sooooo excited! So, naturally, he had to break it in. I'm not sure who was more excited...D or his daddy!

They used a hot dog for bait, and he caught FOUR fish in less than an hour! Haha!

And, as usual, he was not at all afraid of them.

Headed home!

He's THREE

My sweet boy turned 3, THREE, this past Sunday. Not possible! A few weeks ago we took him to party city and let him choose what kind of "happy birthday party" he wanted to have. They had all of his favorites, but Mickey won, and he never looked back. I didn't get pictures of everyone, but all of his favorite people were here for his party. My children are certainly loved!!

His favorite party guest. They are still playing with this balloon. Anna bit a hole in his hand, so the only thing left is one foot and his head. Davis was mad, claiming that he wanted to be the one to break him.

My cupcakes were a Pintrest success! Yay! (To be fair, it's really hard to mess these up...I feel quite certain monkey's could make these successfully!)

They were ready to field Cannon's ball.

My Ninny. (Please keep praying for her.)

They both love the sit-n-spin. This one can't keep herself on it. She gets it moving, then slides right off...every time.

We got D his first REAL guitar. He LOVES it. I have to admit...Brandon gets the credit here. I couldn't think of anything to get him. He has always loved music and B's guitar, so we got him his own. We have always discussed things he could always be able to do, no matter what the future holds for his little legs. You don't have to be able to walk to make beautiful music!

Nana and Grandpa got him his first real bike! (We've been working for MONTHS in physical therapy on riding a bike. He's getting there, but doesn't have the muscle strength to pull back on the pedals. Now we can practice at home too.)

My sweet, big boy.

These two. Sheesh. Everyone else was outside playing. They were playing the guitar built for a toddler. :)

She's going to be the best babysitter! We have the greatest neighbors!!

Note my two going up the slide. She follows everywhere he goes. (And he stops to wait for her to catch up.)

Grandpa built therapy equipment for D, but he refuses to call it that. He built them so there is a sandbox under those stairs. He says he built him a sandbox, if we want to make him exercise on the roof, that's our deal. Haha. Thank you, Grandpa!

He LOVES them!

I do NOT care for how big he looks in the next few pictures. *sigh*

BUT...Thank you, Lord, for our precious MIRACLE! Take THAT Spina bifida!

April 14, 2013, 9:35am. His "birth minute" picture. I had to sneak this one from the door of his Sunday School class.

My sweet boy. He is 28lbs, 36inches of BOY. He never stops moving. He is smart, funny, stubborn, loving, passionate, loud, inquisitive, and mine. He loves outside, running, climbing, cars, superhero's, and has a rock-steady hand. He has excellent problem solving skills and always wants to do things by himself. He is a challenge to parent, but we know God will do GREAT things in him and through him someday!! We are so thankful God chose us to be his parents!! He is the greatest boy ever!!
