He's 2

On April 14th, at 9:42AM, my sweet boy turned 2!! He is...small, but mighty; fiesty; stubborn; BUSY; happy; and acts every bit his age. :) He loves his family, playing outside, getting dirty, all things ball and vehicle, pizza, and ice cream. We still use a medicine syringe to get his liquids in...all 34 ounces EVERY DAY. Ugh. He can drink when he wants to, but often asks for the syringe. Little toot! He amazes us daily with all he can do...all things we were told he would never do. I am in awe of the power of our God, and the determination of my boy. He is still my hero, and it's a pleasure being his mother.

9:42am...birth minute.

Still 9:42am...

...and one more 9:42am. See? Busy!

Cannon..our first party guest!! :)

Our sweet friend (and neighbor) made the cake again this year. I "helped," but really, like with the fence, "we" is a VERY loose term. :) Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Veronica!

Not all that happy with B and I...every time he got one present out, we took it away, and handed him another one to open. Next year, we should put everyone's unwrapped gift in one giant box. :)

Carlee

He actually blew out both candles all by himself.

Yep...he sure did go UP the slide! He does it often. It makes Nana nervous. :)

An unprompted hug for Grandpa.

I thought it would be a LONG time before he climed this part of the thing. I was WRONG. He did it TWICE at the party! :)

Aaron...he's so good with Cannon, Carlee, Davis, and Anna!

Papa spent some time loving on baby sister. She looks perfectly happy there too. :)

These two were fun to watch. Very curious about each other.

My handsome hubby. (and I could really use some lipstick!)

She's still a little small for the swing, but we had to try it out...she's a fan!

Since the American Academy of Pediatrics, and our beloved neurosurgeon all recommend keeping kids rear-facing until their second birthday, we did. And, let me tell you...IT.WAS.HARD! Poor Davis didn't know any different, but his little legs were all folded up, and he spent a lot of time yelling "Where are you mama/daddy?!" in the last few months. After the party, we took him out for birthday pizza. Safe to say he was excited to see where he was going, as opposed to where he had been! :)

Yes, he sure is drinking the marinaira sauce. He drinks gravy too. He does NOT get that from me!

Aunt Granny and Uncle Curt gave D this costume. H loves it! :)

The day afte his birhtday party last year, we went to the hotel Gammi and Papa were staying at and my boys swam. We did it again this year.

Gammi sat this one out with Anna and I.

Friday the 13th...

This year for his birthday, we decided D needed a playscape. We went in with Nana, Grandpa, Aunt Vasha, Gammi, and Papa. I must say, such a good investment! We...I use that term VERY loosely...set it up a day early and let D start playing on it. Last spring, the storms tore our fence up. Two sides were just propped back up, and the third was missing most of it's slats. B tore it down Easter weekend, and my dad came and almost killed himself building a new one (Thank you Daddy! And, Mom and Vasha for helping too!). It looks soooo good...the fence and the new "toy!"

Telling Grandpa to "go away, I do it."

And he did!!! All the way up...by himself!

I have no idea how many times he went up that ladder and down the slide, but it never got old to watch!

All that climbing made him "hung-y." :)

Overnight Guests

It's been far too long since this sweet boy and his family came to stay with us. The day after Easter, Cannon, Carlee, and Ali stopped here on their way home...Davis and Anna were already in bed and never knew they were here, but B and I were happy to get to love on them for a bit. As soon as they got here, B took Cannon to our bedroom because the Ranger game wasn't quite over. I snuck in and found this...

Looking at baseball cards.

When they came, they left this bumbo for Anna. She has mixed feelings about it.

But D? Loves it. Yes, he's too big. And, yes, he sometimes gets stuck.

Easter

Aunt Vasha came for Easter and stayed until after D's birthday. We all loved having her here...especially Davis! When I took this picture, she had JUST walked in the door. :)

Look at that smile!

He already knows that all he has to do is say "I wide it bike, PEASE Aunt Be-Tay?!" and she won't say no.

After a late night run to wal-mart, I came home to this. So sweet.

The Easter bunny came!

Wonder which one was happier that morning? They drove in and met us at church, but D didn't know until after.

Love my little family!

He ALWAYS wants to hold her. Clearly it makes him no difference whether she's happy about it or not.

3 Months Old...She Version

My sweet baby Anna turned 3 months on March 29th. At three months: she was sleeping through the night, drinking 4-5 oz every 3 hours, and rolling from her back to her belly consistently (and had rolled from her belly to her back twice). She weighed 12 lbs, 8 oz, and decided that next to Mommy, her favorite person in the world was Davis. She continued smiling all the time, and at 3.5 months had her first taste of formula...that took lots of getting used to!

Clearly, she was not at all impressed with my photoshoot. Get used to it sister!

Here we go...

I just watermarked 137 pictures. No, I'm not going to put them all in one post. I'm broke them up into several posts, and set it to automatically update for the next 10 days. These first few are just "leftovers." When I left off with the last post, we were in Clyde. These are from our last day there.

My sweet boy. I love that he has started sitting with his legs "Indian style" when he plays.

Taking sister for her first ride on the mule...in a tutu. :)

Grandpa and all of his babies...I'm certain he would compare this to heaven.

My pretty girl...always blowing bubbles.

I looked out the back door and these two were FLYING! :)

Stay tuned...I've got posts lined up to automatically update everyday for the next 10 days!! And, I'm hoping that by the end of those 10 days, I'll have more. I really need to do a better job staying on top of this thing!
